Purpose:Contribute to the strategic positioning of UNICEF through engagement and partnerships with private individuals, philanthropies, corporate and private businesses. In particular, the incumbent will lead the implementation of a strategy to mobilize private financial resources and support for children through the management of UNICEF’s strategic partnership with National Committees, engagement with corporate partners and private business partners, as well as through private sector fundraising in selected country offices. Furthermore, the Director will also drive the implementation and strengthening of a comprehensive approach to engagement with the corporate sector by UNICEF.
The PFP Director advises and assists the Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Directors on matters relating to global policy formulation and implementation under the broad policy guidelines as determined by the Executive Board.
This post also supports the annual meetings of National Committees and the Standing Group, and serves as a member of the Global Management Team (GMT), which is headed by the Executive Director.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree in any of the following: Business administration, management or equivalent professional qualifications in a relevant field.
- At least 15 years of relevant international and/or developing country experience, including at global levels. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing large/complex teams, including operating in complex "matrix" structures.
- Excellent leadership skills, comfortable in operating in a complex "matrix" structure
- Demonstrated ability for leadership, alliance and relationship building, negotiation and advocacy particularly with civil society and private sector actors at global, regional and national levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise diverse professional teams of senior level and technical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and communicate ideas effectively.
- Demonstrated ability for strategic and conceptual thinking, including at global level.
- Demonstrated ability to manage resources at large scale (financial and human capital)
- Demonstrated risk and crisis management skills.
- Fluency in English. Working knowledge of other UN languages will also be an asset.
