KEY RESPONSABILITIES Oxfam Intermon proposes an integrated model within Humanitarian and Development. This position will provide an efficient response to humanitarian crisis assuring the connection with countries development teams, HQ development programs and country/regional strategies. To direct and manage the humanitarian response programmes in the country designated, and coordinate with other Oxfam International affiliates. Coordinate and manage the Humanitarian Response Team. Identify and ensure that the Humanitarian Aid and emergency projects/programmes answer to Intermón Oxfam intervention policy. Carry out urgent and planned exploratory assignments for the Humanitarian Action Area. Implement missions in emergency situations to guarantee a quick deployment of resources and activities. Analyse and identify the reality of the context, the needs and the adaptation of human and financial resources. To plan and control the budgeted expenses for the assigned response. To represent Intermón Oxfam before the humanitarian agencies, the governmental authorities and the media on the field. To provide training and support to programs and teams, in response to needs both at field and headquarters level.
REQUIRED PROFILE Advanced degree in international development studies, humanitarian aid or other related topics.
Minimum of 3 years experience in Humanitarian programmes as Head of Mission, Head of Programmes, Field Manager. Experience in emergency programmes is mandatory. Languages: advanced level of English and French. Spanish will be a plus. Result orientated and organisational capacity and vision for overall program improvement. Staff management skills. Team work and collaboration, ability to engage with the teams at both field and headquarters level. Team building capacities. High flexibility and adaptation to change. Sensitive to gender issues and right based approach. Availability to stay on the field, with no notification, at any time and in any country for the necessary time. WORKING CONDITIONS Contract of employment: Contract for 1 year. Annual gross salary: 38.700 Euros Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance, as well as children benefits. Working place: Barcelona or home based - It is estimated that 60% of the time is spent on the field. Incorporation: As soon as possible.
