Duties:
- Active research and publication in Algebra
- advising and supervising postgraduate students
- teaching undergraduate and postgraduate Mathematics modules
- administrative roles on a rotational basis.
Requirements:
- PhD in Mathematics
- research expertise in Algebra, more specifically Computational Algebra, or any area of research that would strengthen the existing active research groups, namely, Algebra and Number Theory, Analysis and Topology, Discrete Mathematics, and Foundations of Mathematics
- growing track record of publications and conference participation
- postdoctoral research experience
- strong commitment to good teaching
- sound communicative skills in Afrikaans and/or English.
Recommendations:
- Existing international research contacts
- ability to set up new undergraduate and postgraduate modules
- willingness to learn Afrikaans and/or English.
Commencement of duties: 1 January 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter
