Title: Senior Surveyor
Operation: Tshepong Mine
Minimum requirements:
• Grade 12
• Chamber of Mines Elementary Survey Certificate
• Chamber of Mines Advanced Certificate
• Experience in GMSI software
• First Aid Certificate
• Valid red ticket or the ability to obtain one
• At least 3 years’ experience and general knowledge of
production work
• Experience in development and stope surveying and measuring
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
Roles and responsibilities:
• Ensure Health and Safety practices are performed according to
standards and procedures, ie training and development within own
area of responsibility
• Ensure survey work outputs are prioritised, planned and scheduled
and carried out so that deadlines can be met and the required work
flow produced
• Ensure that surveys are carried out according to plan, results
are reported, deviations identified and corrective actions are
recommended
• Ensure quality control and auditing systems are applied in area of
responsibility (eg plans and layout delivery, mine surveying and mine
practice, legal compliance, metal accounting)
• Ensure costs are controlled and wastage of resources is eliminated
• Submit appropriate reports as and when required
