Chemonics seeks an information and reporting officer for the USAID/OTI-funded Libya Transition Initiative (LTI). LTI supports the transition from the Qadhafi regime to a free and democratic Libya by supporting civil society, strengthening local and independent media outlets, and assisting the interim government. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the USAID/OTI Grant Tracking Database, including supervising data entry, hardware program upgrades, and database submissions to USAID/OTI
- Ensure that the database complies with USAID/OTI's database standards; customization and localization of the USAID/OTI database may include adaptation of the database already employed by USAID/OTI for its current program in Libya
- Maintain database accuracy, consistency, and completeness, and generate database reports and other printouts as directed by USAID/OTI; ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the program database
- Establish and oversee content, review, and approval process
- Ensure that monitoring and relevant reporting are taking place in appropriate sections of the database at each stage of project development, implementation, and close-out
- Analyze Libya's rapidly changing political environment on an ongoing basis, and contribute to rolling assessments under the overall direction of the chief of party
- Use the information in the database and information from monitoring and evaluation reports in the field to compile appropriate reporting on program status and impact, including success stories, press releases, quarterly reports, annual reports, and ad hoc reports on how the program responds to particular issues.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- A minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in the analysis and reporting on program impact and implementation
- Familiarity with Microsoft Access desirable
- An independent and highly capable person is required
- Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to maintain a rapid and demanding pace of work are also required
- Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, partner institutions including international and local NGOs, governmental entities, support organizations, and the general public
- Working proficiency in basic office computer applications including MS Word and Excel
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Libyan nationals and/or individuals currently based in Libya only
- English fluency is required, Arabic fluency is strongly preferred
