Position Summary This is a Function Critical Role upon which delegation of Function responsibility and authority to the asset relies. This position description and any subsequent changes require agreement between the Asset Business Leader and Function Leader (CIO). He/she ensures functional activities are conducted in a manner consistent with the Internal Controls Framework (BG Business Principles, standards and policies). | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Key Accountabilities As this position is a FCR, the job holder will have certain accountabilities agreed with their CIO and as set out in the Asset - Function Accountability Standard, that are expected to involve: • Contributing to delivery of the Business Plan by carrying out the Functional/Asset scope of work in accordance with the BG Way and the Internal Control Framework. In particular, this will require identifying any compliance gaps to Global IT standards, developing plans to address them and seeking dispensations as required. • Implementing the Global IT strategy and improvement plans within the job holder's defined scope of work. As part of this activity, ensures full understanding of the asset business strategy and uses this knowledge to ensure that appropriate Global IT solutions are provided. Document these solutions into an overall Global IT strategy and subsequent annual Global IT plan for the asset, for approval by Function Leader. OTHER KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR THIS ROLE: • Accountable for the delivery of operational Global IT services to the Asset, in line with agreed SLAs, budget and in support of business priorities, including managing escalations, informing the function of adverse trends in performance, ensuring full documentation, maintaining DR plans and ensuring adherence to BG Group and Global IT standards. • For outages that affect the entire business, is the primary contact point for the Asset, communicating the progress being made in resolving the incident. • Advise Asset Leadership Team on the delivery, costs, availability, risks and functionality of Global IT services. • Engage and manage Global IT contracts and relationships with service providers, ensuring positive relationships are built and maintained with an overall objective of ensuring the delivery of excellent Global IT service delivery to the asset. • Advises asset management and staff on the application of Global IT policy and processes. • Contribute to the management and delivery of Asset‘s Global IT programmes and projects, including a strong focus on service introduction. • Ensure Global IT standards and guidelines are observed and followed, and that local IT employees share best practice with the IT community. • Engage with the Rashpetco JV and focus on influencing them to adopt the BG way in the key business delivery areas of Drilling, Production Operations, Exploration and Project management with particular focus on collaborative tools and remote monitoring. • Provide assurance and oversight around the IT systems and processes within ELNG and the Rashpetco JV. • Work with potential 3rd party Business View tenants; possible opportunities for engagement with an objective of sharing operational IT support costs. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute • Strong experience of infrastructure and application service delivery and Global IT relationship management including experience of customer facing roles • Experience of delivering services across multiple locations. • Proven experience of delivering Global IT services supported by multiple internal and external service providers. • Proven experience in influencing and building effective working relationships with customers, peers, and external providers in order to ensure delivery. • Experience of working within and driving improvements within an ITIL-based service management environment. • Candidates will preferably be qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject. • ITIL Diploma Candidates should have the following specific skills for this role: • Strong Leadership and interpersonal skills. • Exceptional customer service orientation. • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. • Good problem-solving and analytical skills, able to determine the approximate impact of each issue quickly to prioritise further work. • Understanding of Global IT infrastructure management, application portfolio management and SLA-based delivery of Global IT services. • Understanding of financial and commercial management in an Global IT environment. • Strong influencing skills and ability to positively and sensitively work with stakeholders. • Relationship Management skills, ability to build and create a strong internal network across levels and disciplines in BG Group. • Sound decision-making skills. • Excellent performance management skills with the ability to coach direct reports to develop their capabilities. • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral). • Highly effective planning, prioritisation and delegation skills. • Drive and enthusiasm. • Able to undertake occasional travel. • Able to manage occasional out-of-hours delivery to support change and incident management requirements. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
