Job Purpose
ILRI seeks to recruit an Assistant in the Learning and Development Unit.
Responsibilities
Coordinate inductions and assessments for nationally recruited staff in Nairobi. Organise and schedule group Inductions for new staff in Nairobi. Coordinate all logistics for group & individual training including organising materials, meeting rooms, following up on training attendance; processing payments for ILRI sponsored training, organising travel logistics for training participants etc. Collate evaluation forms of all the L&D programmes and initiatives. Collate learning needs from staff performance development plans and continuously update the Learning & Development Directory. Develop and update a database for appropriate training providers, coaches, mentors and individual training consultants. Support in management and tracking of the Staff Development expenditure. Process all staff learning applications including ensuring the training forms are duly filled and submitted. Collate and record performance records including, performance plans (KRAs), performance appraisals, performance improvement plans and probation reviews and ensure that these are filed in the staff personal files. Alert supervisors and staff about Performance Management timelines and provide appropriate support Maintain accurate and up to date staff training and performance management records. Requirements:
Holder of Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business management. At least 2 years’ experience in a Learning & Development unit or Human Resources function. Higher diploma in HRM would be an added advantage. Flexibility in demanding situations with ability to prioritise competing demands. Good communication skills (written & oral). Fluency in English language is required. Ability to work within a team or independently. Ability to work in a systematic and organized manner, with high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Computing skills, including proficiency in using the MS-Office suite. Willingness to learn more and accept guidance from others for personal improvement. This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position based at ILRI’s Nairobi campus. The position is on a 2 year fixed term contract.
Job level and salary
This position is job Grade 2A with a starting salary of KES 71,479.00 This is exclusive of other benefits provided by ILRI.
