1. JOB TITLE: UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC REGISTRAR: This is a fulltime senior management position of the University. The academic registrar reports to the deputy vice chancellor academics.
CORE JOB DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONS
Provide leadership to plan, organize and manage all of the activities related to the Records and Registration Department, including serving as the official authorized keeper of the university’s student records. The essential responsibilities are; Hire, supervise and evaluate the Records and Registration staff, Organize and administer the records, registration and graduation functions, including transcript evaluation ns, Participate and serve as part of the Student Services Team. Lead initiatives as determined by the Dean, Supervise the coordination, evaluation and certification of all graduation applications, while overseeing the complete graduation process to include all elements of the rehearsal and ceremony. Provide leadership and develop appropriate recommendations for the implementation of related technology application in support of enhanced services offered through Registration and Records, Develop and administer the departmental budget, analysis and resolution of student disputes as they relate to records and registration, Collaborate with administrators, deans, faculty, IT and counselors to facilitate and improve services to students, including catalog and registration/records policy questions, Administer the collective bargaining agreement for the support staff contract and Serve as ex-officio member of Curriculum Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS
Either of the following; Ph.D. degree in business or its equivalent, from an internationally recognized University with a minimum University teaching and senior management working experience of 7 years or Master’s degree with professional qualification or its equivalent, from an internationally recognized University with a minimum University teaching and senior management working experience of 10 yearsAt least 3 recent Publications in an internationally peer reviewed Journal
Others: Fluency in English is a Must. University teaching experience is a must. Possession of professional qualification like ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CIM, CFA, CISA, CISM, and CIPS is an added advantage.
2. JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT: This is a fulltime university Job. The accountant reports to the University Director of finance and administration.
Duties and tasks of an accountant
Accountants may perform the following tasks:
Assist in the formulation of budgetary and accounting policies, prepare financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders and statutory bodies, conduct financial investigations, undertake audits, prepare reports and advise on such matters as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, financing, suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation, examine the income and expenditure of institutions, provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements, provide financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations, liaise with bankers and brokers to establish funds management arrangements, advise on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems, appraise cash flow and financial risk of investment projects and any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Possession of professional qualification: CPA, ACCA or its equivalent and a Bachelors degree in accounting. The required experience in a similar position should be between 4-5 years. Fluency in English is a must
REMUNERATIONS AND INCENTIVES
- Negotiable Remuneration and other incentives will be offered to Successful Candidate.
- Statutory Contributions and Health Cover will be borne by employer.
- Successful Candidate will be subjected to six months’ probation period and Later to a three Yearly Renewable Contract.
