Prequalification for Consultancy Services in Africa

AWF has ongoing consultancy needs in various thematic areas and geographic regions in the organization. As a result, AWF is seeking individuals and firms with specific professional skills to be included in an organizational database of consultants. In addition to expertise in specific thematic areas, individuals and firms desiring to work with AWF must be interested in conserving and protecting the wildlife and wild lands of Africa for future generations.

Specifically, AWF is seeking applications from individuals and firms with expertise and experience in the following professional fields:

Ecology/Wildlife Biology Natural Resources Management Wildlife Management Area planning Climate change, Environmental, Water and Wetland Management Land Use Planning Protected Area Management Rural Enterprise Development

Governance, Financial and Project Management, Fundraising Agriculture, Agribusiness, Livestock Tourism Development Monitoring and Evaluation Social Economist, Gender Lawyers specialized in: Environmental, Labor,  Natural Resource Use, and Governance

AWF implements conservation activities in the following African countries:

Benin Botswana Burkina Faso Cameroon DR Congo

Ethiopia Kenya Niger South Africa South Sudan

Tanzania Uganda Zambia Zimbabwe

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Individuals or key staff with Masters level degree qualification in the area of specialization or related field(s) with at least 5 years’ working experience.
• Considerable consultancy experience in the NGO sector.
• Knowledge and/or awareness of conservation and its relation to economic development
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills, including business writing skills in English or French

Submission requirements are as follows:

For Individuals:  Submit a CV and detailed Cover Letter in English or French. 

• Your CV must be four pages or less, and should include experience and education relevant to the work of AWF.
• Your Cover Letter must be one page or less, and indicate why you are interested in working with AWF, and highlights of relevant experience.

For Consulting Firms:  Submit a Company Profile in English or French.

• Your Company Profile must be ten pages or less, and detail your firm’s area of expertise and specialization (both thematic and geographic).
